The Perham Sportsman’s Club recently held a Donor & Lifetime Appreciation Celebration to honor those who have been generous with their time, talents, and resources in supporting the mission of the club. Dedicated to conservation, safety, community, and sportsmanship the club seeks to enhance, preserve and bring new outdoor experiences to the Perham area.

Congressman Collin Peterson was the keynote speaker at the event which was held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Lakeside Tap & Event Center. The original, founding members of the club were recognized for their ideas and forward-thinking. Past president, Craig Swanson, shared that the club originally started with a simple idea of being all things to all sportsmen. Since 2008, the group has grown to provide new experiences, and various forms of support and service to the community.

Spencer Schram, the club’s current President, summarized the group’s vision of expanding to serve the community in an even larger capacity in the future. Hiking, cross country skiing, and nature viewing, are just a few of the additional outdoor activities the club will offer.

Special thanks were given to Rich and Mary McCrady for hosting the event, and also for being instrumental in the growth of the club and responsible for many of its successes over the years. “It was a privilege for Mary and I to host this event to honor our lifetime members and major donors,” said Rich McCrady. “Nearly 190 people attended the event. It was a memorable evening, and we were happy to be part of it.”  This level of philanthropy and support has enabled the Perham Sportsman’s Club to become a generous partner, giving back to the community in many ways.

With this type of positive support from members and the community, the Perham Sportsman’s Club plans to continue to grow, making a significant and positive impact in the Perham and surrounding areas.
